Happy Birthday to us … we are 5 today! 🎂 What a 5 years we’ve had, we are feeling so proud to be running a successful business, especially one that opened during Covid. WOW. What a weekend, our busiest Christmas markets to date. Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported our business, we are so grateful you choose us. Thanks to the organisers & all the other lovely businesses who continue to make the Epworth Christmas Markets a day to remember.

A Sunday well spent … our Christmas window this year is a shout out to ‘shop local this Christmas’. Always a lovely day spent with our niece & nephew, the fifth year of our tradition completed. 🎄✨

Orange Cakes 🍊 (Orange & Almond sponges, soaked in an orange & cinnamon syrup, sandwiched together with an orange zest cream cheese frosting and topped with homemade marmalade & candied orange).

Super proud of this cake we made for our brother’s birthday on Monday 🎂🎉

(Unfortunately we no longer take on cake orders in the bakery, but still make birthday cakes for our family).

Good morning Thursday, we’ve made a Lime Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting today 🍋‍🟩💚 Open 8:30-2:00 x

Dare we say it …. Our bakery is officially on the countdown to Christmas once our mincemeat has been mixed! 🎄🎅🏻

26kg of sultanas, raisins, currants, mixed peel, glacé cherries, local apples, oranges and lemons, all soaked in a wonderful mix of brandy, mixed spice and dark muscavado sugar.

We use vegetable suet in our mincemeat so it’s all vegan and veggie friendly 🌱

…. Just 5 litres of brandy waiting to go in over the next couple of months before we start mince pie season 🥧✨

CHOCCY GRANOLA IS BACK!! 🚨

Made from @wildfarmed incredible oats.

We’ve had abit of a break from making this, the heat over summer & being so busy (thank you so much) meant the job of making granola kept rolling into the next week…. Fast forward like 6 months and here we are. It’ll be on the shelves tomorrow morning!

We’ve made some scotch eggs, using Medley Farm Sausage meat, Fieldson Farm eggs & sourdough bread crumbs. On the counter today, open 9:30-2:00. See you soon ✨

We’ve made doughnuts which is unheard of in the week…. In fact I feel like this is the first time we’ve ever had them on a week day- they are usually a Saturday thing. Anyway, here until 2pm.

We counted up the pennies and made our donation online this morning. A total of £204, what a wonderful thing!

We’ve been craving a little extra help recently, as we get busier and busier … a wonderful position to be in.

A good knowledge of producing high quality sourdough and pastries would be preferred. We are also happy to top up some skills where needed.

Epworth Music Day 🍦🎶

We will be open tomorrow like normal, from 9:30am till 2:00pm.

We will be serving our homemade Bakewell Icecream … made with cherry & amaretto jam, shortbread chunks and marzipan. This will be served with blueberry compote and toasted flaked almonds.

We will have our usual bakery counter available with sourdough, pastries and cakes. We will also be serving our usual hot and cold drinks, with the addition of matcha lattes and blueberry matcha drinks.

There will also be plenty of fresh Focaccia sandwiches … filled with mortadella ham, rocket and mozarella, and vegetarian options too.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. It will be a rather warm one in the bakery, so please pop by to say hello and maybe grab a refreshing Peach Iced Tea. Enjoy the music!

A huge thank you to @beltonparkpavilion for hosting a wonderful VE Day Celebration on Saturday … and another huge thank you to all those lovely customers who visited our stall.

A great amount of preparation goes into setting up the stall and producing the baked goods to sell, but we couldn’t be more proud of our hard work! Another big shoutout to our family and partners for getting stuck in with us and helping out … we couldn’t do it without you.

Orders must be collected between 9:30 and 12:30, from Queen Street Bakehouse, Epworth, DN9 1HG.

The final day to place your Christmas order is Friday 19th December (4pm).

Our Christmas opening hours . . .

We will be open like normal until Saturday 20th December.

During Christmas week, we will be open on Tuesday 23rd December (9:30 - 12:30) for collection of orders. We will be serving hot drinks and a small selection of baked goods from our counter.

We will be closed for our Christmas break from Wednesday 24th December, until reopening on Wednesday 7th January 2026.

working with regeneratively grown flour and sustainably sourced ingredients, we aim to create new products every day. therefore, no two visits to the bakery are the same.

We also offer takeaway drinks and coffees, using beans from Forge Coffee Roasters based in Sheffield..
